The Development Plan for Collingham is made up of the Amended Core Strategy DPD, adopted in March 2019 and the Allocations and Management DPD adopted July 2013. These documents set out Newark and Sherwood District Councils planning strategy for the District up to 2031.
The Council are currently preparing a new Allocations and Management DPD, which will replace some of the currently adopted policies and is currently at Examination. It is expected that the new document will be adopted and published in 2025.
The proposals present an opportunity to carefully use the natural environment to create an integrated and successful development. This will be supplemented through the provision of new open spaces, enhanced permeability and through the provision of the ecological and habitat value of the area.
Importantly, by providing a considerate and sustainable development. It will also aid in helping Newark and Sherwood District Council meet its 5-year Housing Land Supply targets. Ensuring that a District has 5-year housing supply is critical component for development which is underpinned by National Planning Policy.
